We are the Paintpushers. A small group of visual artists who come together to critique monthly and show our new work annually. Our work is fresh, innovative and contemporary. We are motivated in presenting Des Moines with an alternative venue to purchasing and viewing original, fine art by upcoming and established local artists.
How to Join
If you want to get involved with PaintPushers, start attending monthly meetings. How do you do that? We’re like the Masons— just ask one to be one. If you don’t know any members, feel free to contact us by email. Don’t be afraid! There are usually several guest artists attending each meeting.
We usually meet at 5:30 on the first Wednesday of every month. Our current meeting space is inside Gateway Lofts. Location and meeting times are subject to change. If you plan on attending a meeting, please confirm with a member beforehand.
Membership to the PaintPushers is by invitation only. Artists who express an interest will be considered at the end of each calendar year. Invitations are based on current group size, quality of artwork, compatibility and the potential to contribute something new to the group. Members are responsible for paying yearly dues and participating in group shows.
