My work has developed over the past two decades, starting with more representative work, and gradually becoming more and more abstract. This happened naturally over time. I rarely start a painting with any preconceived notions of where it will end up. I may have a specific color or shape in mind, but there’s very little forethought on what the final painting will look like. Instead, I begin a painting and just let the emerging composition direct me, as opposed to trying to drive it in a particular direction. I continue to work it until it develops into a balanced, (hopefully) aesthetically pleasing form. At that point, I know it’s done. I appreciate you taking the time to look at my work and I sincerely hope you like it.
